The Lighthouse Baptist Seamen's Mission is an outreach to the foreign seamen who man the many cargo vessels that come into the ports of Hampton Roads - Norfolk, Virginia.
We have Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels and Gospel tracts in over 50 different languages. Our workers board the merchant ships to give out this literature as well as give personal witness to these seamen.
As a result of this ministry, we have ministries in India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Liberia. All these ministries are founded by men who have been affected by the Gospel right here in the ports of Hampton Roads.

Throughout the year, ladies in many states knit or crochet caps for distribution to seamen through the Lighthouse Baptist Seamen's Mission.
During the colder months of the year the Wooly Caps are a welcome sight to the men who work on these merchant ships. We like to tell the men that the Wooly Caps will warm their heads while the Bibles we give them will warm their hearts.
The Wooly Cap ministry gives out thousands of Wooly Caps every year. We would encourage true believers to join us in this very practical way of opening the heart's door through this gift of kindness.
